The LXT-220-DO8 Optical DO analyzers utilizes the optical sensing technology of fluorescence quenching to provide a low- maintenance, highly reliable and fast-responding dissolved oxygen analyzer.
The sensing probe consists of a cap containing a durable layer of optically active molecules. An excitation light is exposed to the layer and in the presence of oxygen in the sample, the emission light is reduced. This optical method is unaffected by pH or conductivity of the sample, or flow rate. The cap is easy to access and replace.
The LXT-220-DO8 provides a low-maintenance alternative to amperometric dissolved oxygen sensors. Recommended maintenance includes periodically wiping the sensor with a wet rag and changing the cap as required.
The probe includes integral electronics that monitor the optical signals, sample temperature, ambient pressure, and aging of the sensor cap. These values are communicated to the LXT-220 controller digitally which provides advantages of EMI/RFI robustness and the capability of long separation distances between probe and controller.
The LXT-220 controller is weatherproof NEMA-4X ½ DIN form factor with universal mounting bracket available for panel, wall, handrail or pipe mounting. The membrane keypad and backlit LCD display provides an easy-to-use interface with menu-driven functionality. 4-20mA output is provided as standard and configurable alarm contacts can be provided optionally.
